Reuse Essex is a directory site for a network of reuse centres and charity shops under the name ECORRN (Essex Community Reuse and Recycling Network).
They wanted potential users visiting their site to be able to enter their postcode, and the type of items they want to reuse, and see a list of nearby reuse centres, either as a list or on a Google Map.
The site was done in Drupal 6, and the postcode searching functionality was accomplished using a combination of the Views, Location and GMap modules, with some customization (you can read more about the issues I encountered in this blog post about postcode proximity search in Drupal).
Another nice feature on the site included the use of Hierarchical select for the drop-down categories on the front page, which triggered a change of the main background image depending on what category was selected.
